Directorate General of the Third Sector and Corporate Social Responsibility

he Directorate General for the Third Sector and Corporate Social Responsibility is divided into three offices of non-general management level and carries out the following functions: a) promotes, develops and supports the activities carried out by third sector subjects, in particular the interventions of voluntary organizations, social promotion associations and social enterprises to encourage the growth of a shared welfare of the active society in support of inclusion, integration and social cohesion, also in collaboration with local authorities, companies, other third sector organizations and research bodies; b) carries out the activities of the former Agency for the third sector c) ensures the dissemination of information on the third sector, also through the preparation of documentation, consultancy and technical assistance for voluntary organizations, social promotion associations, social enterprises and other third sector organizations; d) manages relations and monitors – for the part of its competence – the activities of the management committees of the special funds for volunteering and of the service centers for volunteering; e) coordinates the activities relating to the third sector matters of the collegiate bodies hinged at the Directorate General (National Observatory for associations, National Observatory for volunteering); f) promotes and develops support activities for social enterprise – including the implementation of the relevant legislation – and for social entrepreneurship; g) promotes, develops and coordinates policies, initiatives and activities to support the spread of corporate and organizational social responsibility (CSR); h) plans, develops and implements the activities relating to the funding provided by the Community Structural Funds for the implementation of initiatives and projects for integration between social policies and active employment policies; i) carries out activities relating to the payment of 5 per thousand of the income tax of individuals destined by taxpayers to third sector organizations envisaged by current regulations, also taking care of relations with the Revenue Agency; l) deals with relations with European and international organizations for matters of its own competence
